This video work centers on the concept of “the boundary between simulation and reality,” delving deeply into how technology in the digital age reshapes our cognition, memory, and existence. The piece begins with the selectivity and oblivion inherent in simulation, revealing which memories are preserved and which are silently erased in an information world dominated by algorithms and databases. By revisiting the history of models—from ancient sand tables and armillary spheres to modern deep learning and generative networks—it illustrates how human cognition has become increasingly technologized, with models evolving from tools for explaining reality to forces that create and define new possibilities. The video incorporates experiences of “metagaming” and “hyperreality,” allowing viewers to be both participants in virtual worlds and observers of real-world rules, thus experiencing the fluidity and reconstruction of identity and norms. The work emphasizes how media and algorithms, as carriers of power, subtly influence social structures and individual thinking through symbols, procedural rhetoric, and interactive mechanisms. As AI emerges as a new medium, artistic creation faces a crisis of subjectivity; the piece invites viewers to reflect on how the meaning and boundaries of art may change in a future where AI and humans coexist. Ultimately, the video returns to a philosophical inquiry into the relationship between technology and humanity, encouraging the audience to reconsider how, in a world dominated by algorithms, the integration of art and technology can help us redefine ourselves and our future.
